Eruption is a band that hails from Ljubljana, Slovenia and is as powerful as their name suggests. We recently obtained their newest release “Cloaks of Oblivion” and highlighted them on our internet radio show and they were an explosive hit immediately. With tracks like “Sanity Ascends” and “The Yearning”, Eruption comes in with break neck speed and power. This album is truly a great story book told in music form. It nails the emotions with in your face Power Thrash and amazing Riffs and vocals.

I Ran across these guys on You tube and decided to take a listen. OH BOY, was I up for a surprise! Little did I know, Distartica has no front man and their drummer, Carlos Vasquez, does all the vocals which is astonishing in itself and no mean task.
Distartica was formed in 2008 in Houston and also features shredders Alex Vasquez and Carlos Caceres. I gave their new album In Flames We Rise a turn and here are my thoughts on this amazing masterpiece.

On this journey of looking for new metal bands, our glorious leader Mr Toby Gamble, of the Metal Underground, searches relentlessly every day and has me listen to no less than 3 new bands. Every day. I’m not even joking. I love this nightly ritual. How in my 30 years as a metal fan I have missed this band in my “education” of metal is quite mind boggling! Yeah, I’m looking at YOU, friends! I know a few of my friends are aware of this band and I hold you personally responsible for leaving Paragon out of my radar all these years! Paragon formed in 1990. I was listening to Thrash and Metal back then! How did I miss this?!?!??! I am so pissed! LOL
It took 1200 miles, a mid- life crisis and fate to drop this amazing band in my lap and introduce me to a new friend and Bassist in Jan Bunning. I sat down to give Paragon’s 11th (HOLY SHIT! ELEVEN! I have a lot of albums to go listen to now!) full length release a listen and rekindle my career as a music reviewer for Metal Underground. I couldn’t be happier with my selection I made for the return of my life back into the one thing I love more than anything, METAL!!
